Security overview
Northfix Team is end-to-end encrypted. This section is written for the person who has to approve it.
How the encryption works
- When someone starts a team, their device generates a random 256-bit team key.
- The key is added to invite links after the
#. Browsers and apps never send that part of a link to a server, so the key never reaches ours. - Each member’s device encrypts their share with AES-256-GCM before uploading it. The team name and each member’s name and title are encrypted the same way.
- Teammates' devices download the encrypted shares and decrypt them locally. Decrypted data stays on the device.

Access and deletion
- Sign-in. Each member’s device gets its own random token when it joins. The server stores only a SHA-256 hash of it. There are no passwords to leak.
- Removal is immediate. Removing a member revokes their token and deletes their share from the server.
- Deletion is real. Leaving deletes your share. Deleting a team deletes every record about it.
- Hosting. The team server runs on Cloudflare, with its database in eastern North America. Traffic is HTTPS only.
- Everything else stays local. Without a team, nothing in Northfix goes to any Northfix server. There’s no account and no analytics.

Billing
Northfix Team is priced per person and billed yearly, with a 30-day free trial for up to 5 people. Every member gets Northfix Pro while they’re on the team. The owner subscribes and manages seats on the web, from Team in the app. Invoices come from Stripe. When a trial ends without a subscription, the team becomes read-only, and nothing is deleted. Common questions
Do teammates see my notes or messages?
No. A share holds names, titles, employers, LinkedIn links and closeness, plus pursuits and the watchlist. Notes, messages, emails and tags never leave your device.
Can someone join without an invite?
No. Joining needs both an unexpired invite code and the team key, and both are only in the link an admin sends.
What happens if we lose the key?
Any admin can make a new invite link, because the key is stored on every member’s device. If every device is lost, the team’s data can’t be recovered by anyone, including us. Members can start a new team and sync again.
Does it work on Android?
Yes. iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android members can be on the same team.

Yes. On the sample network in the app, go to You, then Team, and tap Preview with a sample team.
